We raised over £500 for Art For Cure at our Asian Cooking Demo

Late last month we hosted an Asian Cooking Demonstration with local chef and restaurateur, Vernon Blackmore. We’re delighted to report that we raised over £500 for Art For Cure ahead of our Asia Bike Ride for the same charity this November.

The event was fabulous and we’ve very grateful to all who came for creating such a fun atmosphere and for their generosity in buying raffle tickets on the night.

Vernon brought with him guest chefs including his mother, Chiu Blackmore, who previously owned Satis House. Chiu cooked a very popular soy braised chicken dish with mushrooms.

In addition, Vernon’s friend Graham Kill – who has spent a long time in China – took to the stove to cook traditional Chinese spring onion pancakes.

Vernon, who owns The Table and The Anchor in Woodbridge, stunned guests with a Cambodian fish amok – A steamed or baked, slightly set fish curry.

We run these events so customers can be inspired to cook different things and see the fabulous appliances in our demonstration kitchen be put through their paces but great chefs. Vernon, Chiu and Graham provided a relaxed and very entertaining demonstration for a friendly and interested crowd. We’re delighted to have raised over £500 for Art For Cure to kick off our fundraising ahead of the Asia Bike Ride in November, which Vernon is doing too! Naturally, we pay for all our travel and kit so every penny we raise goes to Art For Cure.
