Anglia Factors team support breast cancer campaign with epic bike ride

Friday, 19th October was ‘Wear it Pink Day’ in aid of Breast Cancer Research UK, and Anglia Factors very own Dan, Claire and Alex Barr are supporting this cause with the ultimate challenge, as they take on the Asia Bike Ride 2018 for the charity ‘Art for Cure’, which supports the ‘Breast Cancer Now’ campaign.

The challenge will see the team spend 450km cycling in the heat and humidity, taking the cyclists past plantations, across waterways and through villages deep in the heart of the lush Mekong Delta in Vietnam, to the dry lands and ancient sights of Cambodia. The Barr team have been training for this test of endurance by building their fitness and learning about cycling techniques such as pacing discipline and pedal performance. The training has been difficult, and at times, incredibly painful, but determination and the commitment to support the charity has driven the team to face this challenge at peak fitness.

The charity, Art for Cure, is very close to the Anglia Factors’ team hearts. It is a local charity that raises money for Breast Cancer Now, generously donating to a number of local projects aimed at improving the lives of Breast Cancer patients through funding of services and research. Dan, Claire and Alex are part of a team hoping to raise £100,000 for the charity. With 1 in 7 females diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, any money raised will go a long way to improve the outcomes for these patients.

This task is only made bearable by the knowledge that it’s for the best possible cause and Dan, Claire and Alex are asking their supporters to donate generously; they truly appreciate the support they have already received. To donate, please follow the Just Giving page here. For further information about the bike ride, please visit the Art for Cure (national charity No. 1175161) website.
