As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we’re hosting an Asian Cooking Demonstration with local chef and restaurateur, Vernon Blackmore and friends. The aim of the game is to inspire people to be more daring in the kitchen, have a great fun and informative evening and raise money for Art For Cure.
In a rare and exciting appearance, Vernon’s mother Chiu Blackmore – who previously owned Satis House – will be cooking Soy braised chicken with salted soy beans and mushrooms.
Vernon’s friend, Graham Kill – who spent a long time in China, will be cooking Chinese spring onion pancakes.
And the man himself, Vernon Blackmore, owner of The Table, The Anchor and The Old Mariner in Woodbridge, amongst others, will be cooking Cambodian fish amok – A steamed or baked seafood curry.
Vernon’s excited to be back. He enthused: “It’s wonderful to be back at Anglia Factors for my 3rd cooking demonstration and to be able to raise awareness and money for Art for Cure which is a great charity – and the reason myself and Dan & Claire from Anglia Factors are taking on the Asia Bike Ride later this year.
We run these events to inspire people to cook different things and see the fabulous appliances in our demonstration kitchen be put through their paces but great chefs. Guest are welcome to ask questions and taste the results. We hope to encourage new people into our showroom to see our beautiful handmade kitchens, to inspire people to try cook different foods and to raise money for Art for Cure ahead of our gruelling cycle later this year.
There’s no need to book, just come along, enjoy the evening and please make a donation on the night. There will be lots of delicious things to taste!
