Another quite startling innovation from our trip to Eurocucina Milan – a hidden induction hob under a ceramic surface. We believe the induction hob to be from KitchenAid but are unsure as to the designer. Hidden induction hobs were tipped to be the next best thing as far back as 2011 when Barbara Chandler mentioned them in The Independent saying “Cold-to-the touch induction hobs can be hidden in seamless volcanic stone worktops – no cut-outs or dirt traps”. At the time she was specifically referring to natural lave surfaces but evidently others are now available. We’ll watch this development and hope to report further in future.
