Are you making the most of the space your house has to offer? Many older, Victorian style properties have a series of rooms at ground level, with little light coming through, which can sometimes make the downstairs appear dark and gloomy.
The current trend to create open-plan living styles shows no sign of abating, with many owners of older style properties opting to re-model, which seems to be an indication of how modern-day families and lifestyles are changing to meet the demands of the 21st century.
If this is something you are considering, you may feel that undertaking such a project is overwhelming, there is much to consider; who will remove the wall? do you need electricians and plumbers? who will re-plaster the walls and re-floor the new downstairs space?
At Anglia Factors we can manage every stage of your re-modelling project, ensuring you don’t have to deal with the headache of employing various different contractors and designers.
This large ‘L’ Shape kitchen is one of our open-plan creations, our team took down an internal wall, which now leads through to the table area of the open plan space. The client was very keen that the key features and style of the period property were retained. We developed a contemporary design but kept the traditional feel of the kitchen with painted farmhouse style cabinets. The Rayburn cooker quite rightly takes pride of place in the kitchen and we ensured with our sympathetic design, the cooker retained its centrepiece status.
The hand-made bespoke curved oak cabinet not only creates a feeling of ‘exclusivity’, it also offers functionality with the butcher’s block worktop. The pantry cupboard is another example of our fine craftmanship, with creative storage solutions within, particularly the Fisher & Paykel fridge and freezer drawers cleverly hidden within the 2 bottom drawers. We also concealed a NEFF under the counter fridge, ensuring the kitchen remains uncluttered.
The final design and finish were exactly what the client had in mind at the start of the project, with some clever design ideas and storage solutions thrown in, we have built a space that has created an extension to the living area, a relaxed, effortless and sophisticated space that anyone would be delighted to spend time in.
