Accessible living kitchen re-design

02/08/2018

This project was created for a customer for whom wheelchair access is a priority.  The bespoke, sophisticated kitchen offers plenty of space for food preparation and cooking, the island has been created with plenty of access to allow a wheelchair to reach all areas.   The curved edges create not only a sleek and elegant look, but also a safety feature by removing any sharp corners.

The grey and cornflower blue complements one another and creates a bright, contemporary finish.  The windows are strategically placed above the island, ensuring the kitchen is flooded with daylight.

With no heavy turning of handles, the motion sensor taps supports the client with their washing and cooking needs.

The interesting natural grain and remarkable texture featured in the Seka wood and quartz worktop offers an enduring charm.  The worktop has the added advantage of being one of the most environmentally friendly worktop materials available.

Miele has a reputation for quality and energy efficiency, so it was a natural choice for the wine fridge and ovens.  The American style fridge freezer, by Fisher and Paykel, is designed to maximise space and create ease of access.  The fridge offers clear access to the shelves, with spacious extension and storage drawers providing functional solutions.
