As part of our 50th Birthday celebrations, we’re hosting an Asian Cookery Demo with Vernon Blackmore – the exceptional local chef and restaurateur – in honour of the Asia Bike Ride we’re doing to raise money for Art For Cure this November.
Come along and watch Vernon cook some amazing, aromatic and totally delicious Asian dishes as he shows you the techniques you need to achieve the same at home. Try the food for yourself and ask Vernon any questions a long the way.
It’s a relaxed and enjoyable evening of fascinating cookery and excellent company. The event is free to attend but we’d appreciate a donation to Art For Cure.
A bit about Vernon
After helping his family to establish Satis House, Vernon set out on his own. His first venture was The Spice Bar in Woodbridge which served a range of delicious South East Asian cuisine in a relaxed and convivial setting. After the Spice Bar, Vernon took on The Anchor Pub in Woodbridge a wonderful blend of a traditional drinking man’s pub with a great restaurant serving a range of food, much of which has Vernon’s signature South East Asian influence. Since then Vernon has established The Table and most recently taken on The Old Mariner – also in Woodbridge.
A bit about the Asia Bike Ride
The Asian theme of the demo plays to Vernon’s strengths and importantly it also ties in to the Asia Bike Ride that Dan & Claire Barr, the owners of Anglia Factors, and Vernon are all taking on later this year for local charity Art For Cure. The Asia Bike Ride is a gruelling cycle from Saigon To Angkor Wat. 450kms through heart of Mekong Delta. Endless miles of quiet backwaters and country roads past ancient temples and countless colourful pagodas.
